What happens from tomorrow for me?

I am scheduled for a sweep tomorrow which I don't mind giving a go. I will be exactly 41 weeks. I am pretty sure that baby's head is not yet engaged. He's clearly too comfy! I may be wrong on this though.

Are they likely to call me back again for further sweeps or book me for an induction (I really am not sure I want drugs to force my body to do something it is not ready for).

Can anyone help me and tell me what options I have tomorrow?

THanks

I had a sweep at about 41 weeks - just went in, had it done and was booked in for induction then for 41+ 6, on the basis that i'd stick to that if I didn't go naturally 1st. ended up being induced at 41+6 and giving birth at 42 weeks Unsure if they will give you further sweeps, my hospital just did the one. My labour started after just the tablets they put inside you, it didn't feel forced at all. Good luck

You don't have to commit to anything tomorrow.

The sweep will also give you information on how close your body is to kicking off naturally too, so make sure you ask them that.

If anyone says anything about induction and you're really not up for it, ask to speak to the senior midwife (in the birth centre if there is one) and ask her to go through all your options and the latest advice and data etc. In my view, you will get far more sensible advice that scans both the medical and the 'natural' apparoaches, which is essentially what you want. A consultant will tend towards the medicalised route / solutions only.

OK. Thank you. Will do all of the above. Have put Bishops Score on my notes too.
