I have got the real willies about this impending birth. No idea why - #1 was great though I do remember feeling miserable throughout it all and slightly panicky about the contractions as each one started.

This time I am feeling completely panicky and anxious and I need your help to help myself feel back in control.

I have the hypnobirthing, childbirth without fear and the gentle method books here and have reread but they don't seem to be helping

Tell yourselve your jitters are hormones and trust that when you're ready to go into labour you'll get the good hormones instead that say "bring it on!". Although not a nice analogy, you don't worry about being able to poo if you have food poisoning, you just have to let your body get on with things. Try and get some nice things together for the birth, have you chosen a CD or two? OK, you might not get to use it but it might be a nice focus? Wishing you all the best!

Those books may not seem to be helping you now...but I think they will prove to be invaluable to your sub concious.

Try and get a really good relaxation tape, and take some time our each day to relax ( i realise it is an effort to find time to relax, but it will be worth it!)
