Second vaginal birth after a 3C or 4th degree tear?

Has anyone gone on to have a second baby as a spontaneous labour/physiological vaginal birth after their first birth which ended up a 3C or 4th degree tear?... I sadly had a 3C tear with first baby and would love to, if lucky enough to get pregnant again, have a vaginal birth again, my tear was completely spontaneous e.g. no assistance during birth like forceps/episiotomy etc.

I opted for cs as when I asked about chances of incontinence, this was the only way to ensure no worsening. They would have absolutely supported vaginal delivery again if I was up for it, that was their default

I haven’t but my sister did, they gave her special massages to do to her perineum before she gave birth. She didn’t tear at all with her second (big age gap though, so not sure if that had anything to do with it).

Thank you @Overthemoun

@MyPolitePeachSloth thank you, that's interesting to know, she must have been made up to not tear the second time. I am hoping for a 3 year age gap to give my body time to heal.

I had a second vaginal delivery after a 3rd degree tear with my first. I had a second degree tear the second time. The recovery was really straightfoward second time. I couldnt believe the difference as recovery feom my third degree tear was horrible and took ages.

Thank you @Moonhat sorry if this is too personal, but do you know your grading of third degree tear e.g a, b, c?... Don't worry if not. Amazing to hear you didn't sustain another significant tear the second time
