Had DS4 7 weeks ago by CS and tummy is definitely in need of toning! Should know this as have had 3 previous CS's but it's more urgent this time as going on hols in 2 weeks!

Hmmm I was told 6 months by my obstetrician for proper tummy crunches, especially if you've had more than 1 previous section. Lifting, general exercise e.g. swimming, running possible after 3 months I think but the actual tummy muscles take quite a while to knit properly and must be well healed before doing sit-ups, leg lifts etc. Sorry that's still a while away for you!

Out of interest how did you find you last section? I've had 2 so far and contemplating TTCing #3 but am a bit worried about recovery after yet another section as found last one pretty tough (sorry not meaning to hi-jack your thread! )

Enjoy your hols- and try not to worry about your tummy- I think anyone would forgive a wee lack of tummy tone after 4 kids with your last only 2 months old!

I was told at least four months, but you should check with your GP.

you can do some deep abdominal exercises earlier though which will have just as much an effect as proper crunches.

Look at Pilates exercises.

MMN...I've had two and am pregnant again after only 8 months. I'm trying for a natural birth this time because my recovery was so very long and bad last time.

MMN, I found my first and third CS's the worst, the second and fourth relatively good! I had a lady obs for my second and I do think they stitch more sympathetically! My first was done by an inexperienced surgeon and unfortunately was not a good job.
