.... cannot stop crying for them, she went into labour and they could not stop it, baby is so tiny. Anyone out there had such a tiny baby with a lovely outcome?

Not me, but friend. DS born at 23 weeks, under a lb. He is nearly 2 now - looks about 15 months but perfectly healthy. Long hospital haul, but totally inspiring.

Much love x

My nephew born at 26 weeks, weighed less than a bag of sugar, no bigger than his dads palm, spent months in special care baby unit and came home with a heart moniter.

He is now a heathly 13 year old boy, he's a bit smaller than everyone else in his class, but he's got no health or educational problem.

I wish your friend well, I remember from my sister that its a really difficult time.
Hope everything turns out well and I HTH.

Still poorly but life looks good for them. 10 months old now. It is ery sad but th medical profs can do so much nowadays, its amazing. Hope this brings you some comfort xx

Thank you so much everyone, just seen a picture, all wires and tubes. The family are simply lovely and have a great love of life, am sure he will fight with the best of them. They have not named him yet but I really wish they would, I think it is important, not sure why I but I do, I guess in case he does not make it and he needs a name in my head.

Just on quick as on holiday, but search for recent posts by johnworf - she's just had a little girl at 24+3, and is recording her progress in a thread on here. There are lots of comments from others who have come through it on her thread too.

BlueBumedFly · 22/06/2008 20:38

I know someone who had twins around this time, weight approx a pound each. They are now 13 months and amazing! It was a long haul, but everyone is so amazingly proud of her/ them now.

Sending all my best vibes and love to you and your friend's family.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Many thanks yetihed, surely all these good vibes help these little, tiny ones. xx

My cousin was born at 25 weeks. She is now an intelligent, tall and skinny 16 yo. It's hard to believe that when she was first born she fit in the palm of your hand.

bearmama · 23/06/2008 07:15

No stories just wishing your friend all the best. X

my sister was born at 25 weeks 38 years ago, she was fed with condensed milk to bulk her up!
