Anyone else in labour as we speak????
Waters broke at 8pm but just waiting for the onslaught. Getting a few mild pains but nothing major. Want dp to get rest and don't want to disturb ds1, can't sleep myself.
Is there anyone out there???

If you call surfing the web resting then yes! But can't sleep when I keep involuntarily weeing!! First time round my waters broke with an almighty gush 3 times over the space of an hour this time I just keep "leaking" but quite a lot each time... enough to wake me up!
Think I may need to get the Tens machine going now...

Wow a love labour threads, are you doing it at home or hospital?

I'm at home at the moment but going to give birth in hospital...

Have got a birthing ball... will get on it in a minute. With each leakage there's a slight pink tinge to it. Do u think this is normal? I haven't had a show yet and don't know whether it has anything to do with that?

No second... how many children have u had?
And what size were they? First one was 7lb 13. But had a scan on Fri and they told me this one was 9lb already, my local hospoital won't take me as they only do low risk births so have to travel another 20 mins to go to a really busy place!

I never got the hang of the TENS first time round... I've got it on now but not feeling any contractions... how do I know how often they are coming?
I would go off the pain threshold to determine when to go to hospital but I'm a bit more nervous now I have to travel further, plus I have to call in laws to come and babysit so we have to wait for them to get here... they live 15mins away so all in all probably looking at 45 mins before I can get to hospital and I don't know when to go in now!?!

I think I may go and rest on the sofa, watch TV and try and take my mind off it for now.

No when I last went it was just after waters broke, they told me to go home and wait for labour... after they told me I couldn't give birth there! Grrrrr

StarlightMcKenzie - do you never sleep?? Im working at the moment (in labour ward!) so Ive got an excuse to be up and about

MammaT - maybe you should try and get some rest while you can, the pains will wake you up. Pink is ok.

You know what it's like... u have all these ideas of being in charge of your labour but when it comes to it v few get a nice quick labour after a good night's kip... most of us give birth after 12 hours of pre-labour pains that kept us up all night in anticipation and excitment followed by 12 hours of real labour when you're starving and absolutely tired... maybe that was just mine!
