hi all I am scheduled a section the day I turn 39 weeks however baby is currently measuring 3 weeks ahead and on the 94th percentile at my 32 week growth scan, has anyone’s date been brought forward after their 36 week growth scan if they are continuing to be bigger than average?

Not really, but he was measuring 99th centile and breech, but there were no more elective spots so they booked me in for 40+1!! He did not want to wait till then, my waters broke at home and he was born by emergency section a few hours later at 38+4, 10lb 4!

But there's no need if you're already having a c section? No risk of shoulder dystocia etc.

I don’t think they will bring it forward for that reason, there’s no medical need and growth scans are not very accurate anyway. I got an elective at 38+5, I had to complain to PALs though to get it. They were wanting to push me to 40 as no spaces the week before but I refused to go over 39 weeks so after the complaint they agreed to move it to 38 weeks.

They won’t generally due an elective c-section under 39 weeks. I was booked for an elective c-section at 39+9 with an LGA (above 90th centile) AND breech baby because they had no earlier availability. I was just told to call if I went into labour beforehand and it would be done as an ‘emergency’ section.
