Still don’t have my C section date at 39+2 weeks

it was said they’d tell me my date for my c section last Friday but they called to say they had no spaces and to wait until Monday.

Monday received a call - still no space. Tuesday received a call - still no space and now it’s Wednesday, I’m 39+2 weeks pregnant and still don’t know when I’ll have my c section.

Wondering if this is something anyone else has been through? People I know who have had c sections have found out at least slightly in advance.

Jees a bit concerning. Is it elective or not?

It is elective and they gave the standard ‘they can be carried out until 39+6’ but that’s not the point - I just want to know when I’ll be going in!!

I had two maternal request so not saying like that. Just wondering whether you are being bumped due to ‘need’ C’s.

Is that what they have said?

If so have you asked what the plan is if there is no space? Ie. Could they organising you for a different hospital?

All they’ve said is no spaces left, that’s what they’ve said since Friday. So yea I’m guessing I’ve been bumped due to higher risk pregnancies.

‘Plan’ is to add extra slots in for Wednesday (today!!) but management haven’t signed off/got extra staff etc sorted.

I’m going to chase them in the morning and if they can’t let me know a date, I’ll ask if another hospital can take me.

Ahh that’s good then. Potentially the idea is to clear the backlog today - so not for you tommoz but clears up the list and they can then allocate again for the rest of the week?!

Hopefully!

Mine were both 39+6 and 40+1

I was bumped both times but had the day, and then when I came in they sent me home and I had to come in again the next morning.

Have they reassured you they will operate if you go into labour?

If they are ringing you and keeping you updated each day then I think that’s a good sign. Silence would be very concerning.

Oh wow they pushed yours quite late then! I guess I’m just not used to this waiting - 1st was normal delivery (at home!) but had 4th degree and PPH so was rushed in for surgery. 2nd went elective CS but went into labour at 37+4 so never had to wait for a date!

They did say they’d get me in if I go into labour, yes. Just gonna keep my fingers crossed I hear today - thank god it’s my last 😅
