Im about to finish my holistic therpies course and trying to figure out what to do next. dont really want to do my degree, but have been thinking about training to be a doula. I will be able to use my aromatherapy and reflexology to help women right from 36w untill after the birth. any advice/info gratefully received.

hello my dear !!

you need to look into your course options... and doula uk is a good place to start. as is nurturing birth

of course you could offer holistic treatments for the ante and post natal period which would be fab... and baby massage? that is a wonderful skill to have.

the only proviso i would offer is that it might make your TTC more , how to say, emotional. i was so , so achingly broody when i first started doulaing, but it has passed. but it made me feel the 'no more babies for me' quite sharply. IFYSWIM

speak to doulas in the area. many work together and back each other up.

are you more interested in the offering of treatments or in the actual support through the birth...? ifyswim

what is it that draws you to doualing?

Ssounds as thoughh you would have lots of great skills to add to being a doula.

As lulu said, take a look on NB or DUK.

thanks, have contacted NB already!

when i started my course i wanted to help women to have babies. i always wanted to specialize in pregnant and/or ttc women. i would like to help women make informed birth choices and help to make the process asier iykwim. and tbhthe ttc thing has died down a bit now. its nowhere near as painful as it was a year ago.
