Scheduled c section this week - looking for hand hold

Just that really!

I have a planned c section on Friday due to low lying placenta and I am so nervous! I’ve never had any kind of surgery so feeling horribly overwhelmed by the thought of it.

Id really like to hear some positive stories from people who’ve also had planned sections. I’m very worried about not going numb, having some kind of terrible reaction and dying (extreme I know!) or blood clots after.

Any hand holding and positive stories very welcome❤️

Oh congratulations! I’m so pleased for you. Thank you for the update 😊

I've had one normal ( forceps awful! ) and 3 CS due to low placenta. Very straight f forward , quick recovery, I think I was shopping in town with the baby in a pram after 2 weeks . It's normal to be worried but honestly it's a nice experience .

Omg so exciting!
I’ve had 2. They were fine. Both babies breastfed no problems.
And both have massive heads - so quite relieved I didn’t have to push them out!
You’ve got this. Good luck OP! 💖🙌🎉

I had a planned caesarean 18 days ago. While it is an overwhelming situation, the care was impeccable and it felt very safe. It was my first surgery or medical procedure. The spinal block was absolutely not a big deal at all, not really that painful and it worked really quickly. It was worse having the needle in my hand! They test you a lot with cold spray before they start so it won’t start until you are numb.

just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to comment on this thread.

Like the OP I have a planned C section and I’m so so anxious about it and hearing all of your lovely stories has really helped me.

I think it’s grossly underestimated just how much women go through to grow and birth a child, you’re all warriors. Xx
