Did anyone have this discharge?

I found this discharge when I was 3 days pp. Midwife said it looked like retained pieces of placenta and it's freaking me the hell out. Waiting on a scan to confirm but no official date for it. I wondered if anyone else has had discharge like this and it was actually normal?

Definitely looks like retained products. I had similar but chunks that seemed meaty like raw steak. I had them removed with a D&C almost six weeks after birth because everyone missed it. They were amazed I wasn’t septic or showing other signs of infection.

If it is retained products OP they’ll treat it seriously and give you tablets/a D&C if needed. Keep an eye on your temperature and any signs of infection you need to go to A&E.
