Im really scared now after reading the horror stories of PRUH bromley. Im due to have my baby there in july and am seriously considering looking into another hospital. Is it to late to change?

I'm going there tomorrow KD for my induction (nothing happening now grrrr) and I have to say that although I was nervous reading all the negative press I would rather go there than to Mayday or any of the other local hospitals.

I had my DS there in Dec 03 and honestly couldn't fault it. It was clean and the staff were really nice. I am due to have my next DC there any day and I must admit after reading the various experiences from the last couple of years there I am a bit apprehensive. It must have really gone down hill. Having said that a couple of my friends have had babies there this year and said it was fine. I guess for every horror story there are hundreds of good experiences (let's hope so anyway !!!).

kentdee- hugs for you as saw your other post. I don't know PRUH itself but do know that a lot of the time for any hospital you name there will be a real mix of horror stories and good ones (you only have to trawl throgh past posts on other hospitals to see this)

It may be possible to change hospital but I'd speak to your mw and arrange a visit yourself to PRUH to see what goes on -forwarned is forarmed. If you are still unhappy then you need to go via GP/PCT to get somewhere else.

Also if there is any thing in particular that worries you (eg people being rude to you whilst in labour) then you need to get your birthing partner on the case. I'm particularly nervous of that aspect too and have dh lined up to come down like a ton of bricks if it happens.

Thanks everyone. I think I will sleep on it tonight and speak to my midwife on next visit. x
