Woke up at 5am this morning with mild contractions. They were coming every half an hour and lasting for about 30 seconds. They were definately contractions rather than BH because they are quite painful but not unbearable iyswim. My back was killing me all night.

It is now almost 10am and the contractions seem to be wearing off a bit now , although just been to the loo and noticed a lot of show. So I am hoping that today will be the day. This is my 2nd DC so I'm hoping that things will progress a bit quicker than with DD.

I don't want to have a bath just yet because I don't want to slow things down anymore than they are doing naturally so I was thinking of having a lay down and seeing if that helps. It's just frustrating that the contractions are supposed to get worse and over the last few hours, have started to get better.

Surely this is the start of it though, isn't it?

Was thinking of ringing the delivery suite and seeing what they say but I don't want to be rushing over there only to be sent home again. I really hope today is the day because I am booked for induction tomorrow and I have not been looking forward to it, although thrilled at the though of finally meeting my boy!

Yes I would second going for a walk rather than lying down - although it's probably the last thing you feel like doing

Good luck
