I have recently had a caesarian and would really like to go and have my bikini line waxed - any guidance/experienc on this? I don't want them to rip my scar open!

How recently? One of the problems with caesarian scars is that you can get ingrowing hairs in the scarline - I have and now have to pluck them by hand (farking difficult in the third trimester).

If it's in the last eight weeks, I'm afraid you've got no chance - but after that cold wax is better and bear in mind the skin will be thinner and more sensitive - but no, you won't rip your scar.

thanks. About 7 weeks now - so sounds as if I will have to wait....

Omg I'm so glad you've posted as it's something I've been wondering about. I had a c-s 7 months ago and didn't know if I could wax. I've been shaving but shaving gives me ingrowing hairs (and once in the scarline and it's was very painful)and I hate it. The thought of waxing the scar kind of freaks me out a bit though.

I think it was about 8 weeks post section that I got waxed, but the delay was mostly due to having new baby. I'd had a laparotomy previously , with similar scar line and the docs had said after it that I could get waxed after a week. I left it 2 and was fine.

That's great cos I didn't know if I could wax as everything, like immac, tells you not to use on scars.

BTW if you pluck the scar for a few weeks the hairs don't seem to come back.

I had my bikini line waxed about 8 weeks after a caesarean - I only had the outside bits done , nothing on my scar, but it came apart about half an inch or so at the end from where the skin had been stretched taut

If it looks completely healed it should be ok but if you're in any doubt, wait.
