Ask to be referred back.

This sounds awful. How far postpartum are you? If within 28 days you could call your maternity triage number and ask for a review if you haven't already. Is there a reason you can't take ibuprofen? You could also ask for dihydrocodeine- this is safe for breastfeeding if you are doing so.

It sounds like it needs examining by an obstetrician/gynaecologist and the knot removing though. Hope you can get this sorted soon.

This. You have more pain relief options than just the panadol. And if the pain is increasing then it needs to be looked at again to rule out infection (which is quite easily treated). The knot can be removed esp if >day 7, the removal shouldn’t hurt it’s just snipping the suture material.

also you can try sitz baths (lukewarm water with some salt), ice pad, and when you pee use a water bottle to spray the area with water to dilute the pee and reduce the stinging/burning feeling on your stitches. Also hydration can help with that. Lots of fibre +/- laxative so you don’t put pressure on the area with bowel movements. Try to spend lots of time lying down rather than sitting/standing.

I’ve had this - it’s quite demoralizing, I get it. But it will eventually heal and you’ll feel better!

Sit the other way on the toilet when you wee! Game changer.

Go to a+e and say you are in agony.
