Hi,

im 2 weeks PP and had to be fitted with a catheter following the birth. Vaginal delivey, second baby, 2nd degree tear, quite a fast labour. I still can’t pass urine and been fitted with a catheter again. Has anybody had any experiences similar and any advice to give? Finding it quite isolating and frustrating too. It’s really getting me down.

Do you have a perineal irrigation bottle? You fill it with cold or warm water before sitting down on the loo, and squirt the water on your undercarriage to stimulate peeing when you're seated - experiment to see whether cold or warm works for you. If you pee but dont know if you've emptied your bladder, you can squirt water again to get a response. You can also use it as a sort of portable bidet after a poop.

You can buy the bottles on amaxon.
