Seeing a consultant at 30 weeks to discuss about birth options

as DD arrived via emergency c-section after 17 hours to find that her head was facing upwards.

The consultant said that he will check on the size of the baby (dd was 9lb 1oz), body position and the face position too.

Will i be having scans too and also on that day at 30 weeks? as whether i need a full bladder before i see him?

thanks

scan to find position at 30 weeks would not really achieve anything, as baby still moves around loads at that point

If you do need a scan youo won't need a full bladder at 30 weeks.

well he did mention about having more scans (but he didnt say about having one at 30 weeks when i see him), but not mentioned about having a full bladder.

prob best for me to ring him incase

thanks

SMS is right I am sure, at 30 weeks your uterus is well out of your pelvis and can easily be seen by the scan

early scans need your full bladder to lift your uterus up so it can be viewed

I didn't even have a full bladder at 20wks....

baby is not in pelvis so full bladder not necessary...also baby much bigger and easier to see!!!

Baby positioning in the first child does not indicate the second. Please don't be bullied into anything you don't want by a consultant. You have a choice of how you give birth to your baby, scanning even at 38 weeks is no indication of anything but the fact that the baby is hopefully staying head down.

Good luck

Can't offer any help but my baby has been breech until last Friday when I was 37 weeks pg. He's now moved and is head down so the chances of your baby moving several times between 30 and 37 odd weeks are huge.
