Perineal stitches come undone

Hi,
im currently 3.5 weeks postpartum and had a 2nd degree internal tear and a small external tear at the top of my perineam.
I’ve been reviewed by the GP due to concerns around healing and she said that it looks like the tear in the outside has come apart slightly and is open. She said it is clean, no signs of infection and it should heal by itself.
however she did also say that it may not close and it may heal with a small gap?
has anyone experienced this or had stitches come away and it healed closed? I am very stressed about how this is going to impact things in the future if I have a gap at the top of my perineam?
currently pain has pretty much gone and only get a bit achey if I do lots of walking so hoping that’s a positive

This happened to me and all healed fine. The midwife didn’t really bat an eyelid either when she looked - she just said the same as you’ve been told that a few stitches had popped already and there was a bit of a gap but because it was so small it would just heal on its own and it did. So hopefully you’ll be absolutely fine :)
