Can contractions actually feel quite *gasp* nice???

I feel very stupid for asking this, but I am 40 weeks and for the last hour or so I have been having contractions, but they are not painful at all. If anything I feel very relaxed and a bit post-orgasmy I know contractions will feel awful when they get goign but has anyone had ones that actually felt quite nice for a while? Of course these could just be braxton hicks I suppose, but hopefully things are getting started (I am very fed up )!

who cares what anyone else thinks? if you are enjoying it , great ! a good time to get nekkid and have some hot lovin' to get things moving, or just for fun

Glad to know I am not the only one! Am going to be very disappointed if this is not it though, I am pretty fed up and had to go to hospital with severe pain in my side yesterday, turns out I have been kicked in the ribs so hard that it has fractured So maybe this is karmas way of apologising- cracked rib, easy labour [wishful thinking emoticon]

me? no I was going to have a wonderful time with a midwife coaching me through it all at home

ended up undiagnosed OP baby, midwife refused pain relief at home, had epidural, forceps, botched episiotomy

slight mixed feelings about next birth

Get some rest if you can

I know what you mean. With DS3 especially I had two weeks of really strong BHs (not the fags, the contractions)on and off but they didn't hurt, they were just really strong muscular pulls. Not orgasmic as such but they felt good, I enjoyed them.

When I actually gave birth to him I only had about 8-10 really big contractions before he was born. They were huge ( and so was he!)and powerful and really productive.

ina may gaskin has written some really interesting stuff about orgasmic birth. wasn't quite that lucky myself but i didn't find it anywhere near as painful as i'd expected. hope it continues for you!
