Placenta Previa C Section Reassurance

Hello

First time I’ve posted on here but been following a lot of threads about placenta previa having been diagnosed with this at 20 weeks pregnant.

So I was diagnosed with total previa at 20 weeks, sent to feral medicine department for scary type of scan with lots of people in the room and warned by midwife to mentally prep pâté for a big bleed and or hysterectomy.

A little background this is baby number 7 for me , 5 normal vaginal deliveries full term followed by a c section on year ago due to a breach baby spontaneous labour at 35+5. Got pregnant when youngest was 5 months old.

I spent a lot of my pregnancy worrying , I tried to rest more including pelvic rest and generally took it easier than I normally would.

I was booked a c section for 37 weeks (they put it as elective) but obviously didn’t have a choice due to risk of bleeding etc.

Got to c section booking and all seemed calm , I was down for an afternoon slot , anyway mine and baby’s heartbeat started to increase and it turned into an emergency section. The staff were absolutely fantasise and all felt quite calm in all honesty.

The surgery was straight forward and baby came out on lovely condition.
I lost 600ml blood , less than my last section without previa.

I am in hospital now with baby and recovering so well.

I’d love for someone else to read this thread and if nothing else it ease their anxieties. It’s easy to listen to the worst case scenarios and horror stories but more often than not it all works out fine.
