Looking for some advice and hope! I’m a second time mum but daughter was born 9 years ago induced. I’m now 39+3 days with my son, I had a sweep on Friday. I instantly started cramping after the sweep and gradually began loosing my mucus plug/bloody show. I’m still loosing it and last night I thought labour was coming but after a full night of inconsistent back contractions and pain it wasn’t enough of a pattern for hospital. Today I’m so tender from contractions especially round my stomach and I’m still getting them just again not consistently. My water never broke with my daughter so as soon as I felt the contractions I thought it was time but with them being all over the place obviously not. Did anyone have similar that gradually turned into regular contractions over next few days? I’m so filled with fluid in my feet I’m just ready to have my boy. Thanks in advance!

How are you getting on OP? Hopefully you’re now cuddling your beautiful boy!

If you haven't had your baby yet, be wary of waiting for them to get too regular. My contractions never got regular until it was too late to go anywhere - pushing stage.

I had a very similar situation to you last week with my son's birth. They did a sweep, lost my mucus plug/ show shortly after snd started to get contractions but minor and very far apart. In the end they broke my waters and I was given a hormone drip, both of which sped up my contractions. Water was broken at 1am and my son born at 9.30 am.

I do hope you are holding your precious baby Flowers

Hello ladies,

i indeed have my beautiful sweet baby boy after a long slog of a labour. I feel like he really wasn’t ready to come and won’t be taking a sweep again! It caused it all to be so all over the place and stressful for me personally. They also broke my waters at 4cm & I cannot even begin to describe the pain until I finally admitted to an epidural (birthed my daughter with only gas and air at 21) but this was something else totally! He also had to get forcep delivery, went into hospital at 10pm Sunday and didn’t have him until 3pm Monday!!

but he is here. And he is beautiful, so that’s all that matters.
thanks everyone for your advice! X

Sorry to hear it wasn’t straightforward, glad he is here now - congratulations! 💙
