How long after the show might labour start for real?

Wondering whether having a show means it's unlikely I'll end up needing to be induced?? Or is this just wishful thinking??

Mucous plug defo gone - went on Sunday evening. Been getting show since last night and had distinctly dodgy tum for a couple of days.

Now wondering whether this could carry on for 2 more weeks, taking me past due date (Sat) and into a point when they'd start talking about inducing me.

Am planning a homebirth so really keen not to have to be induced. But don't want to get my hopes up that this show means it's all about to start.

Help! Any advice?

I wouldn't worry too much about induction at this point, you've still got plenty of time. I had a show a week or so before dd2 was born, and I still had a home birth at 6 days overdue. The midwife carried out a sweep which I think helped encourage labour to begin.

Well with ds, had a show about 2 days before I had him, 1 week late.
With dd, it happened just hours before.
BEst thing you can start doing now is to have sex, lots of nipple stimulation and relax. Hopefully things will kick off soon - sounds like things are getting started with the show and the bad tum.

I really hope so. Am so big and uncomfortable now I just really want things to start! Can't imagine going another 2 weeks like this. I seriously think I would pop. Maybe baby is gearing up to make an appearance on its due date - that would be lovely.

I had a show at 40weeks, still wasn't in labour at 41weeks

I had a show and small bleed about 3 weeks before I had dd. As I was planning a homebirth and had the show at 36 weeks I was anxious about being too early rather than overdue - luckily dd waited to get to 39 weeks. We had our homebirth which was great.

Sounds like you are close though so don't panic - hope it all goes well for you.

I had a show 2 weeks before I went into labour.
