I had my DD at 40+10 she was completely spontaneous labour and i had a really good time for a first labour. I only had G&A in the last 20mins of Labour.
I have just had an appointment with my MW and have been booked in for an induction next Thursday when i will be 40+12 all tho im really hoping i go into labour before then as i am on my second sweep!!

I just wanted to know if the labour will be very different as i have herd that its a lot more painful to be induced than to go naturally!

Thanks for any advice xx

disneystar I have to say that its really reassuring to know that alto you have already had 6 DC you are still anxious about labour !!! it makes me feel a lot better to know that is not just me being a total weed !!

I will let you know as soon as i have any news and an sending you lots of mobility vibes. It must be such hard work with 6 to look after and being in pain as well I take my hat off to you !!!!!!!! xxxxx

Sweetbean I've had 3ds, 2 in their own time and one induced. The induced was by far the easiest, least painful and quickest to recover from. With my induction I had a gel and nothing happened, then 4hrs later very slow build up of contractions. Monitored me every few hours for 20mins and I was free to do as I pleased, even left the ward and walked around hospital grounds, bounced on ball, went for dinner in hospital restaurant etc. Only difference was that DH had to leave in the evening only to be called back later. From induction at 9am, contraction started mild at 1.30pm, built up slowly over evening. Went to sleep at 10.30, woke at 12.30pm and had DS3 by 1.30am. Least painful by far and very quick so my body "stretched and bounced right back" words of midwife - no bruising, tears or anything.

Good luck and just remember your body, your baby so speak up if you are not happy with what hospital wants to do.

Happy huggy the newborn - my DS is nearly 6mths now

I think being induced for subsequent labours is much easier than being induced for your first labour.
DC1 - induced at 40 + 10 - fairly horrible
DC2 - spontaneous labour at 40 + 1 - lovely
DC3 - induced at 38 weeks - the induction itself was absolutely fine but in retrospect I should have been much more assertive about declining other intervention. They broke my waters at 6cm simply to comply with their protocol (no genuine clinical reason) and it was horrific from then on. But if I'd declined that intervention it would have been fine.

So ime the induction isn't something to worry about but you need to gird your loins for getting them to let you get on with it.
