Has anyone used Juju Sundin's Birth Skills in their labour?

I've just read the book from cover to cover - bought it yesterday - and I think it sounds brilliant. I can totally relate to the effectiveness of blocking out pain using distraction methods. Interested to hear about anyone's experience using the skills and whether they helped/were able to put all the skills into action. Also, if you did use them, when did you start practising them - a few weeks before,or a few months before? I'm 21 weeks and it feels a bit early to start, but then again maybe it's never too early...

I read the book too (can't answer your question sorry, but really interested to hear what other people have to say). I'm ttc #2 and after difficult (to say the least) birth last time I'm looking for anything to help me cope better and be more positive for future births. I like the idea of 'legs for labour' and the stress balls - can imagine that working better than the chanting/focusing on words/details etc for me. Does anyone know where to get stress balls from?

I've been on amazon and you can get juggling balls very cheaply there - they are closest to the balls featured on juju's website. Best of luck with ttc and using the skills!
NCT Birth Day book includes a lovely dvd which is strong on getting empowered for your labour. 2 v diff births featured - I have to say the one that doesn't go so well where the lady panics helps you to see what not to do as juju says, ie don't freeze up and let the pain overwhelm you. good to bear in mind and see the contrasting almost absurdly chilled out homebirth!
