Early Sweeps - Hyperemesis gravidarum

My midwife has put an appointment in with the consultant next week to discuss early sweeps to hopefully avoid the full induction process. Did anyone else that still had severe HG towards the end of pregnancy have this? Grateful for any experiences.

I had several early sweeps from 36-7ish?? weeks due to severe pgp (I was pretty much wheelchair bound).
I also tried acupuncture.

Neither worked and I had an actual induction at just over 40 weeks.

Sweeps only work if your body is pretty much ready to do into labour. But at that point I was willing to try anything.

That’s good to know as I also have severe PGP, on crutches etc but still can’t get very far. Was it your local midwife that did the sweeps?

Yes it was my local midwife. This was a few years ago though. Guidance might have changed.

I wouldn't get too worked up on it though because I don't know many for whom a sweep actually worked! They just get you crampy and excited for a bit and then disappointed because your still pregnant!

I would focus on getting your consultant to agree on an induction at 40 weeks so you don't go over. That way you have an end point in sight.

Why have they said HG means you'd need a sweep?

I had HG and a sweep in my first pg. i don't think they see related?
