C section shelf/ scar treatments

Hi, I'm a FTM 4 months postpartum and still have about 1.5 stone to lose to get back to pre pregnancy weight (put 33 pounds on overall, lost 22 in first 2 weeks postpartum and then put some back on as I was ravenous when breastfeeding). Scar is still a bit red and slightly raised and have a dreaded shelf/overhang. Have been doing an exercise course designed for postpartum mums but worried that the shelf and the weight are never going to go away, as it seems like other people have lost their weight by this stage. Is there anything I can do at 4 months stage to help this? I've seen silicone pads for the scar and heard of src recovery shorts for compressing your stomach but it seems like these should have been worn for the first 8-10 weeks, is it too late now for something like this to help? What did other c section mums do to lose weight/ get rid of the shelf/ minimise their scar? Thanks.

What makes you think that others have lost the weight at this stage I assure you that most don't. Can't help with the shelf as it never went away for me still got it years later

You won’t lose the shelf but once the weight is gone it’s barely there so don’t worry.

Honestly it just goes with time. I had similar thoughts when I was the same stage, but I’m now 18 months post partum and it’s tiny, I know it’s there but you can’t see in clothes.
