Stretch and Sweep advice PLEASE

Had a sweep at 12.00 today and it wasn't painful at all just a mild bit of discomfort MW said that the cervix was nice and soft and that i am 1cm dilated but that it was still facing slightly back.

I have had some period pain since but no show other than a tiny bit of blood straight after the sweep.

I'm 40+3 and just wonderd how successful sweeps usually are?
and how soon you are likely to go into labour IF its actually worked!!

I already have a dd but didn't have a sweep with her so this is my first experience of one.

ANY advice or peoples experiences would be greatly received!!

ooh! well that means something is happening for sure... tho' maybe not immediately!! maybe you'll have one of those '0-60 in 2.5 hours' labours like goodcatholicgirl

Well i have just had another sweep so fingers crossed !! I'm booked in to be induced on the 5th June so please let the baby come before then !!!

I am in exactly your position although a few days behind. Had a sweep yesterday morning - I was also already 1cm dilated and was told my waters could go "at any moment". This morning I had a show so have high hopes of labour starting SOON. Hope you are home again with your baby - do pass on any news

God it's bloody frustrating isn't it??! every night I go to bed thinking "maybe labour will start tonight" and then NOTHING! Fingers crossed for both of us that things move along quickly!

LOL i thought i was the only one that went to bed paying that they would wake up in labour !!! oh well its nice to know that we im not alone!!

You should come and join the due in May 2008 thread as we could really do with some company there are only about 3 of us left !!!!! i would do a link but have no idea how!!!!! xxx
