Mucous plug - was that it?

Apologies for TMI, but...

Went for a wee last night and there was a small streak of clearish jelly on the paper. On second wipe, got a fairly big blob of brown jelly - maybe a thimble full.

Nothing else though. No blood, no pain, no waters breaking etc.

Could this be the mucous plug and if not, what else? I'm 6 days off due date.

If it is the mucous plug, can't remember if I'm supposed to let anyone know or just carry on as normal.

And don't suppose there's an average time after this happens that labour begins (she says hopefully).

Any thoughts/advice??

sounds like it - no need to do anything. i have a feeling it can be a while before anything starts proper

It does should like a show, or at least part of the show. It could be a while yet though before you go into labour (it took me a week or two after having a show!)

i had mine a few days before my waters broke and i went into labout

no need to let anyone know about it - just carry on as normal (as much as you can at 39+3!)

My show was similar to that, if a bit smaller. If it's any comfort, I went into labour that night, about 8 hours after the show!
