Hi everyone,

Has anyone had a private elective c-section, and could you give me an idea of the cost please.

Thanks!

At the Portland I believe it is around the 10k mark but that was what a (flash git) friend told me so he could have been exaggerating!

Blimey! I'm in Sheffield, so maybe it's a bit cheaper up north!

10-15k for private obstetrician/hospital/section in London. My local obs will do 'consultant care' - i.e. NHS midwifery, NHS hospital (you may get amenity room if it's free, it £200/night at my local) & section for around about £3-4,000.

Mine was emergency c section - but the cost of this and antenatal care etc was around £11k. I had my baby at J&L and it was worth every penny.

Minimum £10k for a straightforward birth. If you have a caesarean and a longer stay in hospital then that racks the price up somewhat.

Worth every penny, although I didn't have mine at the Portland as twins are around £20k!!

Kx

Chelsea & Westminster Private Maternity ward - OBs fees £5-6K (includes one-to-one antenatal care), hospital fees (all MW care plus first night) £4100, nightly fee after first night with section £950, bloods and scans another £500+.
