Elective C-section dates

I recently had my 36 week scan and baby’s growth had slowed so need to go back for another in a couple of weeks
i have chosen to have an elective section due to breaking my hip many years ago and being scared of any further damage
During my appointment the doctor advised that they’d book me in for my section between weeks 40 and 41 which I thought was unusual as I was told by my midwife it would likely be between weeks 39 and 40. I’ve sent my midwife a message to see what she says but in the meantime thought I’d post on here to see if this is normal? Anyone else I know that’s had a planned section has been taken in prior to their due date.
Note that they did mention that if baby’s growth is still not fully on track by my next scan then they may pull the section forward however I’m concerned as I’ll already be over 38 weeks by then and feel they aren’t leaving much time

Sounds about right to me, unless there are concerns for baby then planned sections where I am are usually 40-41 weeks

I’ve not had my consultation about my planned section (due to complications in labour last time) yet, but yes, I thought they were generally 39-40 weeks. Otherwise obviously you’re very likely to end up in labour before having the section. I went into labour with DS1 the day before due date.

They are also 39-40 weeks in our trust (or earlier if there are additional medical reasons).
