No this isn't about orgasms in childbirth. This is a wonderful film about natural childbrith that you might want to see.

I've popped the details below of where it is and how you can get tickets. If you go to Orgasmic Birth - you can see a trailer

I think it will be wonderful and I'll be there.

Now I do hope it's okay to pop this here. I just thought that some of you might like to see it.

lOL at maitaining a calm atmosphere at the birth! Might send DH for next time.

Amberc · 22/05/2008 11:58

Just watched the trailer and all I can say is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (especially the snogging whilst in labour).

towncalledmalice · 22/05/2008 12:36

is this not the sort of thing that makes women who haven't succeeded in "opening up" to the orgasmic birth experience, i.e. MOST WOMEN, guilty 'cos they ended up begging for an epidural or having an emergency CS or any of the myriad of scenarios that can occur!!

ProfessorGrammaticus · 22/05/2008 12:37

Orgasmic. Yeah, right

meemar · 22/05/2008 12:38

MIL loves to recount how she did orgasm when giving birth to BIL. It never fails to make him cringe

MarsLady · 22/05/2008 12:48

town... it's entirely up to you whether or not you see it or how you feel about it. I have 5 children (4 births) and only my third birth was natural. I don't feel a failure etc because of that. I'm rather excited about seeing this and it is for those that want to see it.

I'm sure I should be thinking deep thoughts about the film or something but...it is being screened at BP house! PMSL

Interesting trailer though, they have a point that we always focus on how much it will hurt which probably doesn't help but I'm not sure going on about orgasms is quite the way to change that! Still it is true that we should have more confidence in our bodies. I intended to be all relaxed and have dp massage me etc with ds but the huge amounts of vomit got in the way Always a next time! I do get very when I read stories of women who have given birth in a calm, goddess like state in darkened rooms with the MW just waiting in a corner somewhere. Kind of makes it seem like an unattainable thing and the rest of us are a bit inadequate.

solo · 22/05/2008 13:09

Bloody hell, that trailer has made me cry...can't help myself, child birth makes me emotional.

Feelingbetterslowly · 22/05/2008 13:13

I was very inadequate at my birth! Not only did it go on for two days without an epidural as "two ladies on the ward have already had one so we can't monitor you too"-I've been here 24 hours longer than them-I should be next!!! but my old school nurse was the midwife-it was SO weird and horrid and I still want to scrub myself raw thinking about it now!!! And she was a devout methodist! How BAD did I feel swearing my head off!!!! A few orgasms may well have helped in that situation I think-almost tempted to have another dc just to find out!

Snaf · 22/05/2008 14:35

I am thinking of going to this, Marsy, so might see you there!

The showing of Business of Being Born was at B-P House too and the discussion afterwards was led by Peter Duncan of Blue Peter and Duncan Dares fame I couldn't quite work out the connection between Scouting and childbirth until a friend told me his wife is an IM...

I don't see why this should make anyone feel guilty or inadequate. I had an epidural and synto drip and it was about as far from orgasmic as I could possibly imagine but who cares? This is just another side of it all, another type of experience. I think it's fascinating.

MarsLady · 22/05/2008 16:18

I'll see you there snaf! (unless my client goes into labour)

Speaking as one who got "borderline fatal" written on our post natal charts I can't "get" this one, I'm afraid.
I'll pass it to my mother of 4-home-births friend who CAN do all this stuff.

I'll stick with normal orgasms thanks: so less messy and no medical staff in attendance.

brrrrmmmm · 22/05/2008 16:26

And for your neighbours' sake, Miggsie, I hope a little bit quieter than a birth!

Fathers to be eh? No surprise that this orgasmic birth stuff is on a blokes website. I'm thinking of building a website extolling the virtues of orgasmic urethral swabs:- "yeah baby just relax your japs-eye and breathe in the orgasmic power of the universe"

FFS!

Amberc · 27/05/2008 21:22

Nice one Tess321!!!!
