Finding out c section date one week before?

Having an elec c section at 39 weeks (39 weeks exactly is a Saturday). I asked midwife today when I’d find out and she said one week before it’s scheduled for. Is that normal? I need to make childcare arrangements for other dc.

That was what happened for mine.

Pretty normal for most places! I had my c section at 38 weeks and found out at 37 weeks.
With my first c section I was told that it could range from 39 weeks to 39 weeks and 6 days.

It varies by trust but yes that is often the case.

Yup! Didn't get confirmation till 36 weeks when it was and always should of been scheduled for 37 weeks for health issues

Must depend by trust, i got mine about 28 weeks for 39+4, im pretty sure if you speak to your consultant they would get the admin team to book you in?

It's not unusual, it's also not unusual for the section to be cancelled completely because of emergency cases.
