Bowels after childbirth (sorry tmi post-birth poop problem!)

Before birth my bowel schedule was set and reliable. Since birth a week ago it’s been a bit unpredictable and that’s annoying with a newborn! I used to go once a day in the morning and now it’s morning and evening and I feel like I could go in between as well but I find it hard to find time with both kids. Any recommendations for slowing it down a bit? Or maybe reassurances that it’ll soon so back to normal? Thanks.

I’d say it’s hormonal, like period poos, so it will settle.

Mine went the other way. Even with loads of prunes I'm not as regular or predictable. Damn breastfeeding hormones

Congratulations op :)
It will go back, your gut biome and hormones are all over the place. After your first how was it? Have you recently taken antibiotics?
After both kids I had constipation and was prescribed a pessary. DS is 9 months now. Went back to normal after a few weeks

@Paaseitjesoh no! I do wonder whether the breastfeeding has done that but the opposite for me. Also, are you Dutch/ Belgian? Easter eggs?

@jealyah yes I had to take antibiotics after birth due to a chest infection - could that be it? I finished the course two days ago and it seems to have calmed down a bit thankfully.

Half Dutch and needed a new user name at Easter Wink
