Pre labour pains at 35 weeks (2nd baby). Has anyone else had these?

Hello. Am 35 weeks pregnant and suffering from what I can only assume are "pre-labour" pains. Apparently baby is engaged (which I thought was unusual for a 2nd pregnancy) and and feeling a lot of pressure down below and period like cramps. Have back-ache too.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Any words of wisdom?

Thank you.

Wow, exactly what happened to me, with my 2nd ds too.
My second was engaged for a few weeks, and was a week early, after LOTS of trying to get him out, might I add.
I got prelabour pains for a fortnight before I had him. btw, they always followed sex, and multiple orgasms!
It all sounds normal, so i wouldnt worry, just try and relax. They are painful, I know, but can go on for days and eventually stop. Have a bath and relax.

Thank you flubdub, that's reassuring. Although we haven't been having sex (can't face it!).

How was it with your first dc? I was induced with my dd at +10 days and the head did not engage this early - that's why I am so surprised.

With ds1, he was 6 days early, after about 40 hours of regular contractions. His head had been engaged for a while too, but i had no prelabour pains with him, just LOTS of bh both times.
