Tens machine with balloon induction?

Has anyone any experience with a tens machine during an induction?

I'm getting a balloon induction on Thursday. I've had a balloon before and it frickin HURT! Just wondering would a tens help? And if so when to put it on?

I found the tens completelyuseless for anything other than the distraction of pressing the button with each contraction!

I was induced, but not a balloon induction. The midwife suggested the TENS machine but I absolutely hated it. It was a really annoying sensation and couldn’t wait to get it off ☹️

I didn't use the TENS machine during the actual balloon induction, but did use it in labour and found it really helpful, that and bouncing on an exercise ball got me to 6cm quite happily. They should offer you G&A during the balloon induction. I found the examinations beyond painful (being induced, absolutely not ready to labour at all) but i personally found the balloon less painful than the examinations themselves.

Good luck! X
