Baby not staying head down

I’m due to go in for an induction a week today when I’ll be 37 weeks because I’ve got gestational diabetes and the baby is pretty chonky (92nd percentile).

Only problem is they won’t stay head down - keep turning transverse for a while before they go back to head down for a while etc. I’ve got a lot of amniotic fluid which they think means moving is easier for the baby than it would usually be at this gestation.

I’m waiting for the consultant to call me to discuss whether I need a c section but I’ve got an older child and live fairly remotely so was hoping to avoid that as it’ll mean I can’t drive etc.

anyone got any old wives tales or similar for getting a baby to stay head down?!

Dd2 was like this. I was advised to sit up straight all the time, no slouching as this gives them too much room to go sideways. I sat in my ball for with an open pelvis and she finally stayed head down at 37 ish weeks. Try and prop yourself up straight on the sofa too
