Hello!
I’ve been meaning to post this for a while, but having a new born I’ve just continuously forgot. But in December 2024 I had my beautiful baby via c-section, he was footling breech throughout the pregnancy and attempts to turn him failed. I was absolutely terrified of birth, having never had any form of surgery or even being admitted to hospital before. I was referred to the PNMT, and had one meeting, which besides discussing through some of my birth preferences did very little in giving me informative knowledge of the procedure, what to expect, before, during and after while recovering.
I thankfully, came across a page called C-section UK on Instagram, and cannot tell you how much this page helped me. It’s run by professionals, they have courses available to purchase but they also regularly post a wealth of information regarding what to expect, validating your feelings and informing you how to take care of your self post surgery. I never brought any of the courses, but just reading their content and the conversations from other women who’d had c sections was so so helpful to me and massively helped me walk into theatre informed, aware and feeling in control.
It also provided me with what to expect post surgery, and how to care for myself and my csection wound at home. And believe it or not - I was discharged from hospital less than 24 hours after surgery with ZERO advice!!
I’ll attach the link below, but I just wanted to share this with any pregnant women who are considering a csection through maternal choice or due to health related reasons. As i wish I’d of come across it sooner in my pregnancy. (This isn’t a ad affiliated post or anything like that, I just genuinely wanted to help others if I could).
