Periods after birth

I gave birth nearly 1 year ago, I had one period in early March when my daughter was 10 months nearly 11 months old and now I have zero signs of a period again. I tested for pregnancy even though we are using protection but it was negative. Has anyone been through similar ?

From my experience it takes a while to get back to "normal" and have regular periods. I had my first period about 3 months after my son was born and I was still breastfeeding but they didn't become regular until about 1 year on.
