Are they any good? Are there any particular brands that you would suggest avoiding/recommend? I want one that is battery-powered, so it needs to be long-lasting and reliable. (Have searched in "Products" but can't find any refs - sorry!) Labour ward extremely hot so need to buy something decent - many thanks for suggestions.

I don't know the answer but I'm also after one of these. I was just going to look in Woolworths or similar for a cheap plastic one and maybe buy a few.

They have them cheaply in MnS. Get extra batteries! Also a water sprayer for watering the plants is great with iced water in it, sprayed on your face during labour - or Vichy water in a spray can. Also it's great for waking up babs when they snooze on the boob. Good luck.

Got mine from www.isyourbagpacked.co.uk - along with enough bottles and bits to comprise a spray bottle. It's small, battery powered, and easily packed away... could easily refer to something I wishe I had the energy for right now

With first baby had fan, water spray bottles etc-vvv organised- didn't use any of it once - except to fire it at midwife who told me to take another bloody bath!!!

Do they not have them on the ward and in the labour rooms already?

You need this

Evian spray cans are excellent. Mine was a godsend.

I think there's only 2 electric fans on a big, busy ward, so sod's law I won't be able to have one. We took the tour of the labour rooms etc last week - they are on the 3rd floor, heating permanently on, all year round and absolutely stifling . And I'm due early July ...

LOL Lynette - a stylish must for every summer labour bag!
