What to wear?!

Probably the last thing to be worrying about but any advice gratefully received as my mum sadly is no longer with us to ask and my closest friends with babies have had sections.

I'm hoping for a vaginal delivery and wondered what I need clothing wise for labour/birth/immediately post partum? I presume ideal is a couple of button up nighties to be able to wear during labour and then change into a clean one once baby's here to be able to breastfeed (hopefully!)

Or wear the hospital gown?
A light dressing gown will be useful.

I went in for natural with 3 loose lightweight nightdresses and wore 2 in my labour (it was around 24 hours in active labour and a lot of sweat and vomit so changed) but then ended up having an emergency section

Afterwards I had my third to change into and hubby took the others to clean as I was going to be in for a couple of days

Take a few just in case

I had a t-shirt on and then when DD arrived they took it off me and put me in a hospital gown - whatever is comfortable for you.

I think after I'd had a wash I put a pair of pj's on - button down (it was November and chilly!)

I bought three cheap as chips nighties from Primark and then some really loose button down pyjamas for afterwards.

After section - massive comfy apple-catcher pants to be above scar.
And big high-waisted elasticated harem pants. Lived in them for about a month then got the maternity leggings back on.

Both would work for a vaginal delivery i imagine.

After catheter out etc I felt much comfier wearing my own Nightie than the hospital gown.

I gave birth in January it was roasting in the hospital but at home I lived in my big warm dressing gown with big pockets (so both hands on baby when moving around.)

I laboured in my normal clothes then changed into a button up nightie later on. Afterwards I wore comfy loose pj's that were easy to bf in.

I kept the vest and t shirt I had arrived in on the whole way through. Took the joggers and knickers off as soon as I could so the midwives spent a lot of time covering me up!

I laboured naked but then I have no qualms about that! And I was in the water for a lot of it . Afterwards just hospital gown and then an old comfy nightie easy to breastfeed from.

I didn’t even have time to change the second labour , gave birth in the dress I was wearing !

What I had planned was some cotton nighties from Primark
