Induction delayed - 2025

Writing this in frustration as the hospital seems to constantly not having capacity to do my arranged induction which they advised. Recommended induction at 38 weeks for GDM and large baby, was given a date and the day before they rang to say they were delaying it as they still have a backlog of inductions. Heard nothing the next day, so I rang 10am the next morning (this morning) to be told no capacity. Expecting a couple of people to leave today but you can't ring back till 6pm. Getting more and more frustrated and bored, after they sprouted all the risks of not going forward with the induction I'm now sat in limbo wondering if it's ever going to happen! Any one any experience? What's the point in hospitals having induction procedures if they don't actually have the capacity to see them through? So pointless.

It is highly frustrating! Especially when they have explained why it is needed. All I would say is:

  • At least it hasn't started at all. I had a friend who had the first 'stage' of induction (I can't remember what they did), sent her home and then weren't able to have her back in for the next step, and she had several days of very early labour.
  • Presumably they aren't that worried about you, or they would prioritise you.

Fingers crossed you have been given a time to come in by now!
