I'm 39 weeks & 3 days. I've had braxton hicks for a few weeks & the last 2 days I've had cramps like period pains on & off and been really irritable, i've noticed in the last couple of hours they've been roughly every 15mins for about 30-45secs.

Is this the beginning? I'm not rushing off to the hospital just yet but wondered if this is perhaps the start!!!

Sounds like the 'latent' phase may well have started. It can take a while though (even a few days) so sleep and eat while you can!

Looking forward to your birth announcement

sounds hopeful.

Any show?

Presumably you'd have mentioned if your waters had broken (don't worry, mine always had to be broken by midwife just before delivery)

Make sure your hospital bag is ready, put dp/dh on alert, and rest, rest, rest until you are ready to go to the hospital.

If they get particularly painful, try having a bath.

If they become unbearable or are getting very close together, pop yourself down to the labour ward.

Good luck.

Ah bless you! I have had a few niggles today and am so hoping this is it! I have had enough even though I am only 39 wks and 1 day! Every so often I am getting period type pains in my lower tummy but nothing regular or to painful!

Please be the start of labour!
