I feel like this baby is never going to come! 2 days away from 42 weeks and been having stop/start contractions since Saturday, water still not gone. I’ve tried everything! Any tips to keep me sane and encourage labour?

Eek! Long stop start labours like this can mean the baby is malpositioned. Can you do some spinning babies exercises?

I had on off/ stop start contractions for 3 days or so before baby came, it was so frustrating and hard to stay positive when I keep thinking it was happening and then it’d stop.

I think all you can do is try and accept your body is working hard preparing and that the day will come very soon. I know that’s much easier said than done. My labour was long but I had a very short pushing stage which I put down to all the setup my body was doing beforehand - it’s not for nothing!

Also, if you keep timing contractions on an app - don’t. My midwife told me to stop with app and I’d just know when it was really time, and she was right. Stopping obsessing about the timings helped a lot.

Look at the website spinning babies and do all of the moves to work on optimal fetal positioning. It's uncommon for second labours to go like this so my suspicion would be as PP said a malposotion. Are the pains in your back at all? It's easier to correct itself when it's not your first baby so don't lose faith.
