Pressure in bum

I'm 36+3 and for the last few days I've been feeling so much pressure in my bum. Today is worse than ever. I am not constipated, no hemorrhoids as well.
Pain also goes down my thighs. Oh and pain in the lower back too.
This is my second DC but I didn't feel this with my firstborn. Is this baby engaging or something like that? I am otherwise feeling fine, but it's becoming really uncomfortable.

Well now it turned into painful lower back ache and belly tightening like BH.

Sounds like baby could be engaging. I had back ache and then gradually it got stronger and contractions started. Good luck OP. xx

Sounds like the head is engaging, but also could be early labour.

hopecro · 21/02/2025 20:24

@Raininginparadise2 @user2848502016 well I definitely hope it's just baby engaging as I'm still a bit early. I've been having really really sore lower back all afternoon. It eased a bit after a bath but my legs are so achy as well and feel heavy.

It sounds like you might be in early labour to me!

user2848502016 · 21/02/2025 21:01

Might be worth giving the maternity unit a call with you only being 36 weeks, just in case

hopecro · 21/02/2025 22:13

Well what ever it was, it's better now 😂 I still feel a bit of ache and pressure but definitely got better.
I was gonna give maternity unit a call but as I'm feeling better I think I'll jsut see how it goes.
It's so annoying not knowing what is happening, wish baby can give me heads up

Oh and forgot to mention, TMI but had loose bowels so that might have been part of the problem.

Loose bowels is a sign of early labour! It happened to me

Garman · 21/02/2025 23:17

Sounds like early labour, 37 weeks is term so you’re not far off it.

user2848502016 · 21/02/2025 23:22

I had "early labour " symptoms for over a week with my second so you could be a while yet, and 37 weeks is full term so you're nearly there

caringcarer · 21/02/2025 23:30

I had this when my babies head engaged. Then labour followed quicker than expected and two weeks early.

TumbledTussocks · 22/02/2025 00:35

One of mine's head would engage and then he'd bob off again for ages - they were the best part 2 weeks late.

healthybychristmas · 22/02/2025 00:39

It does sound like early labour to me. Get your bags packed! Wishing you the very very best of luck.

NotVeryFunny · 22/02/2025 01:40

How are you doing op? Also sounds like the start of labour to me too!

Greenwallpinkwall · 22/02/2025 07:43

Are you ok op?

marshmallowfinder · 22/02/2025 09:04

Really sounded like labour starting. Hope all OK with OP.

hopecro · 22/02/2025 09:46

Sorryyyyy
No, I haven't given birth 😂
So last night before I went to bed it got a bit better, still achey but not as much. Woke up this morning feeling hangover. Barely managed to eat one slice of toast. No pain but exhausted.

So no news.

Will keep you posted if anything changes.
