C section wound opened 3 weeks post op

Hi
I had a planned c section 4 weeks ago (3rd baby, 2 x natural labour previously) and about a week ago a round opening appeared at one end of the incision. I was already on a week's course of antibiotics at this point as the wound was weeping and doctor prescribed in case of infection. It is no better at all since I finished the antibiotics and the opening has gotten slightly bigger and is still gunky (no smell or redness).
I'm so upset about it. The doctor has prescribed another course of antibiotics but I'm not even sure these will help. I've read so many threads on here but has anyone experienced similar? And if so what helps and how long did it take to close again? I'm desperate to get on with my life as a mum of 3 but I feel like all I'm doing is sitting around waiting for this to get better.

I had this with my second and sadly it took 6-8 weeks to start to heal properly. The pain of the infection was so much worse than actually having the c section and the immediate recovery. I must say, it was not like that at all with my first c section.

What helped me is going straight to maternity triage with it. I had numerous rounds of antibiotics and where I live you can phone maternity triage up to 6 weeks after birth so I phoned and was seen by the surgical team who made a plan of action and combined 3 different antibiotics as well as a very strong pain killer. Only then did it start to heal. I did have to have complete bed rest for a few days though to allow my body to relax. This was incredibly difficult with a baby and a toddler but my dh and family have to step in and help so I could get better.

really hope you start to recover soon!
