Vba2c

I've recently found out that I am pregnant again! 🥰 and im wondering if anyone has had a vba2c?

I had a c section in June 2022 and October 2023, both were elective. I'm unsure as to whether I'd like to try for a natural birth or just have another elective again as this will probably be my last baby. Also I have no idea if my consultant will even let me attempt a vbac as it will literally JUST be 2 years between to my last birth and this birth.

I have had a stillborn so I will always do what the hospital recommends as my baby arriving safely is what's most important to me.

Would like to hear people's stories of births after c sections x

I wanted a VBA2C about a year ago after two planned caesareans and the consultant was completely onboard (it was in London). Said there is nothing in the guideline saying I should be dissuaded, advised to book a c section for 41+3 or thereabouts and wait for the natural labour to start. I didn’t want an induction.

I did not have this conversation until about 31 weeks because I did not want to raise any alarm bells with midwives. They were all basically assuming I would have another surgery.

I spent a lot of mental energy trying to decide as I also didn’t particularly fancy perineal trauma (my dream would be a c section with the onset of labour - not possible on the NHS). But in the end the placenta sadly stayed low at term so it was another surgery.

Hi @flamebobo - Im in a similar position - currently 30weeks pregnant with my 3rd, 2 previous CS and debating whether to take a third planned or choose vba2c???

Have begun research and seems to be that if spontaneous labour comes on it is much more likely...success rates of vba2c around 71% after 2 previous CS.

Would love to hear from others who have been there. Have you given it any more thought
