Hello, I have had random, variously uncomfortable contractions since 11pm last night. I am knackered and going to go to bed - is there any point in me keeping the TENS on???

wondering how long this is going to go on as DH took today off and don't want to waste his paternity leave

Keep it on if you can. Ignore the whole thing as much as poss, get as much sleep as poss. If the contractions get worse in the middle of the night you don't have to faff around getting the damn thing back on - just switch it on and rest. Make sure you have spare batteries nearby and spare pads (if you have any).

I've been through exactly what you are going through twice now. Things will start off properly soon but you must get as much rest as possible in the meantime.

Good luck

BigBadMouse - you have given me hope! I am off to neck a few paracetamol and hope things pick up in the night/morning.

cheers

Hope it all goes well - I'm having the odd on/off contractions myself right now but I think I have longer to go than you - nothing to justify a TENS yet (I'm a fully certified wimp though!).

Get as much rest as possible and remember all the contractions you are having are not just to tease you - it's your body getting everything right for a nice easy delivery
