Elective section - when did you get your date

When did you receive your date for your ELCS? I was given a 4 day window at around 34 weeks, the window is next week and I've still not heard which actual date it'll be! Is that normal? Do you find out at pre-op appointment? Thank you!

I’m 37 weeks. I find out on Monday 🥳

It’s quite normal don’t worry. It’s also not a given. You can turn up on the day and they might move you back.

I found out at 35 + 5 :)

Thank you! I actually just found out this afternoon, hopefully it goes ahead on that day!

I got mine yesterday at 36 + 2. I'm booked for 39 weeks and 2 days.

I think it really varies by area. I asked for an elective section at my booking appointment and was told a likely date, this was then confirmed at about 20 weeks. This was consultant led and my second section, which might make a difference.

DD showed up a week earlier though, which just shows that even the most meticulously planned birth rarely follows the scrip!

Second ELCS here and I was told I'll find out tomorrow when I have a telephone appointment with the consultant.

My due date is a Friday, do you think they'll try and do it then or more likely to push it back to the next week when I'll be 39+3 or over?

DD1 was born at 38 weeks.
