I can't comment on the birth as my dd was 7lb 12oz and born through the sun roof. She was, however, 23lb at 23 weeks so can sympathise on the hungry baby bit! It does slow down, dd 18 months now and only 33lb.

Nosnik · 30/11/2008 07:19

Jesus show!! 23 lbs at 23 weeks?? she started over 4lbs lighter than Tristan too, you must have been constantly feeding!! you poor thing! Tristan is in 9 to 12 month clothes already, some 12 - 18 months, has it been a problem for you, people buying stuff that doesn;'t fit?

hi nosnik,
i first read this thread a few days before my dd was born, she was 8lb 8oz and that was big enough......she's 6.5months and 20lbs now tho
seen your other thread...try and forget the biyatch...easier said than done though i know. keep your chin up xxxxxx

Nosnik · 30/11/2008 08:13

thanks gokwancarr, another baby who caught up!! I'm glad Tristan isn't going to be a giant, sounds like lots of babies are bigger than average. x

YIKES! Good on ya girl.
Congratulations. I'm wincing for you.
Take it easy while the tear heals won't you? I did all my wees in the bath at this stage and had glycerine suppositories to help with passing the other stuff.

LulumamaLovesLatkes · 30/11/2008 10:43

crikey, my DD was not 22 pounds until 16 months or so !

glad your boy is thriving so well . why you feeling crap?

MarsLady · 30/11/2008 10:49

I love it when people show how possible it is to birth big babies. Well done and congratulations

ShowOfHands · 30/11/2008 13:29

Clothes have always been a problem. She's consistently in clothes that are at least 6 months older.

I must point out that she's not chubby either, just tall. She's over 3ft at 18 months so perfectly in proportion. Other children her age look tiny to me.

Sorry you're having a rough time.

wideratthehips · 30/11/2008 13:45

bloody hell! my whopper was 10lb 8oz and i wanted a shiny crown and a round of applause everytime i walked in to a room for about a month afterwards. was he your first?

he was my second, but ds1 was an average 7lb 3oz and i struggled to get him out!

lollyheart · 30/11/2008 14:53

I am looking at my 12 week old he is only 10lb 15oz now. 12lb 5 oz at birth ouch.

spookycharlotte121 · 30/11/2008 14:57

Bloody hell!!! Dd is 5 months and only weighs a few lbs more than your ds did when he was born...... I am impressed!!!

WotsThatSkippy · 30/11/2008 19:02

Jesus Christ. I thought I was hardcpre having a 10 lb-er.
Well done you! Congrats. Bet Trisan is the cutest little chubster xx

reluctantincubator · 30/11/2008 19:16

there aren't enough expletives in the world that would express my awe at that! (but inspiring to know its possible!) I was quite worried, being on the petite side, and DH being a 50inch chested, 6'2, 18 stone rugby player build, but so far the MWs think it is average sized. We should find out soon enough (two days overdue already)

Nosnik · 30/11/2008 23:22

reluctant, I'm average 5'6" with same size DP as your hubby! You'll be fine! Just be confident in yourself!

breathes deeply

will try! . In defence of my otherwise petite frame, I do at least have "childbearing" width hips.

travellingwilbury · 01/12/2008 11:48

Wow !

I am seriously in awe , my second was 12 11 but I had a c section . The picture they painted of a vb was too scary to even contemplate .

Well done you

How are you doing now ?

mellyonion · 01/12/2008 12:00

12 lb 5???? good god woman!!!!

bet you felt a right skinny mini after he's popped out! well done you, you should feel rightly proud.

my 10lb dd was my easiest birth by far than my other 2 dc at 8 lbs and 8lbs6...

hope you're feeling a bit more cheery today...playground politics are a real pain...not read what's going on, but i hope its sorted quickly.

x

FrazzledFairyFay · 01/12/2008 12:04

Congratulations, that's amazing.

chocbiscuits · 01/12/2008 14:34

Wow that brings tears to my eyes. Dd three and a bit weeks, born average 7lb12 and nowhere near your Ds weight yet!

Nosnik · 01/12/2008 20:02

Ha ha melly, I was a right skinny minny! 5lbs lighter than when I got pregnant! I lost 2 1/2stone in a week!

Its all back on now though!! I loved eating without heartburn!!

OP posts:
Nosnik · 01/12/2008 20:04

MadamAnt · 01/12/2008 20:41

Oooh nosnik WELL DONE!!! I can't believe you didn't receive more rapturous applause back in May. I just adore massive newborns. Did he have cheeeeeeks?

Maybe there's something in the Surrey water. DS was born at Frimley and he was (a mere) 10lb 9oz. I was ludicrously pleased with myself!

Nosnik · 01/12/2008 22:58

I can't madam! I should have had at least 100 replies straight off shouldn't I!!? I only made it to 63 before slipping into mumsnet obscurity!
