Hi I’m 2 weeks post op from my planned c section and noticed a rly small split in the scar. It’s not got any fluid coming out, no blood, it’s only slightly tender when I pat it dry but just wondered if this is soemthing to contact dr about?
It doesn’t look infected at all and looks really superficial but with my emergency c section had really bad healing so worried!!

pic attached sorry for graphic!

This happened to me after my second c section. I was told it was because I was doing too much and I needed to take it easy, but I did have a 2yo at the time as well so probably was doing more than I should have been.
It healed fine so probably no need to worry, but I would still advise getting it checked just to be sure.
Congratulations 🎊

I had this after my surgical hysterectomy (same type and size of incision as a c-section) and it took absolutely AGES to heal up. I kept having to visit the nurse to have it cleaned and dressed and treated with silver nitrate... like once or twice a week. Could you call the GP's surgery and ask about that? Good luck!

Happened to me a couple of times with my second c section

i went in and they gave me fusidic acid which cleared it up

I would go in just in case

Okay seems like general consensus is to get checked just in case!! Thanks will ring gp tomoz xx

I had this happen to me but they kept an eye on it and it was all good. Healed well after. Can't even see the scar now

This happened to me with second c section. Showed it to midwife and she had just to air it and still discharged me.

it got a bit worse and didn’t close up, on the end I realised airing it when it’s open is not the best advice. I started cleaning it each day with salt water then putting an Elastoplast dressing over it (basically a fabric plaster) every day and that cleared it up within a week. I feel like I wasted a week following the midwife’s advice, if I’d just covered it straight away it would’ve healed quicker. In the end it took 4 weeks since the c section to heal x
